The new Pierre Cardin eyewear collection for Spring/Summer 2013 denotes a sophisticated style and reflects the inspired blend of French originality and Italian creativity for which the celebrated brand is renowned. The new sunglasses and optical frames feature geometric lines and precious jewel-like detailing, which lend a distinctive, unique flair to these models.

Women’s models: playful elegance

These women’s acetate sunglasses are enthralling with their fine cat-eye silhouette, whilst the optical frame is characterised by a classic, soft shape. Both models are decorated with a crescent-shaped, jewelled detail enriched with a semi-spherical insert on the temples in shades of tourmaline grey, mother-of-pearl white and tiger-eye brown. The colour palette includes mélange tones of blue and crimson, as well as nuances of black and dark Havana for the sunglasses and peach/brown/beige, lilac/blue, beige/grey/khaki or Havana for the optical frame.

These women’s acetate sunglasses have harmonious, round profiles while the optical frame features a square shape with softly rounded edges. The temples, bearing the brand’s photo-engraved logo, are embellished with alluring geometrical patterns, recalling the distinctive style of the House’s ‘90s collections and created by using three-layer acetates. These models come in edgy colour combinations ranging from purple/crimson/burgundy to brown/nude/white, or combine the understated hues of black with grey or Havana, available with brown lenses; the optical frame also features tones of crimson red/burgundy.

An easy-to-wear silhouette and clean, simple lines characterize these casual acetate sunglasses. A sophisticated metal hinge bears the brand’s engraved logo, which stands out on nuances of blue, black and dark Havana with brown or shaded grey lenses.

A double bridge and a fashionable shape define the trendy spirit of this men’s acetate optical frame. This model stands out with its ultra-lightweight feel and alluring colour palette ranging from classic hues of green, Pierre Cardin’s iconic colour, to Havana, as well as black and dark Havana.

PIERRE CARDIN EYEWEAR PRESENTS ITS “RE-EDIT” CAPSULE COLLECTION FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2013

For spring/summer 2013, Pierre Cardin draws inspiration from the House’s historical archives, celebrating its timeless, evergreen style by reinterpreting its cult sunglasses and optical models.

The designer has selected some of his '60s creations to relive the magic and glamour of La Dolce Vita, in which Mr. Cardin played a key role: two pairs of sunglasses and two optical frames that bring the unmistakable '60s-style to the forefront of fashion with a contemporary elegance.

P.C. 8377/s and P.C. 8378/s: A retro, feminine allure for these oversize or rectangular-shaped acetate sunglasses featuring ultra-lightweight steel temples embellished with the “P” open-work, the brand’s iconic signature detail. Transparent hues enhance the mélange of colours in tones of red, blue and green as well as classic shades of black and Havana, always combined with shaded green, brown or grey lenses.

P.C. 8386 and P.C. 8387: These women’s acetate optical frames are seductive with their cat-eye shape and are embellished with appealing colour contrasts and the iconic “P” open-work on the semi-matte steel temples. These models feature nuances of green, Havana, dark Havana, black and mélange red (mod. P.C. 8386); as well as Havana, red and mélange blue, black and dark Havana (mod. P.C. 8387).

The new Pierre Cardin eyewear collection reflects the brand’s classic, refined style: the new sunglasses and optical frames stand out for their elegant, timeless personality.

A refined, classy flair for the women’s models

A feminine allure for these oversize round-shaped injection-moulded sunglasses that are rimless on both sides and feature a carré-cut Swarovski crystal illuminating the initial part of the temples, clearly visible on mirror-effect shades of lilac, powder, blue and purple, as well as classic tones of black and Havana (mod. P.C. 8370/S).

This acetate optical frame featuring an elegant, linear shape is also decorated with a Swarovski-cut crystal on the temples, accompanied by the “Pierre Cardin” signature detail. The colour palette highlights exquisite colour contrasts, in shades of light grey/black, dark Havana/champagne, lilac/pearled purple, pink/burgundy, transparent blue/blue (mod. P.C. 8368).

These trendsetting, colourful women’s sunglasses and optical frames in multilayer acetate seduce with their cat-eye shape enlivened by edgy colour contrasts and bas-relief decorations on the temples radiating from the monogram. These models feature sophisticated nuances: black/brown/beige, red/marbleized burgundy, light purple, black (mod. P.C. 8371/S); Havana, burgundy/red, purple/lilac and black (mod. P.C. 8367).

A distinctive style for the men’s models

Modern, essential lines and a lightweight feel: these sunglasses and this acetate optical frame stand out for their retro style. These models feature refined stylistic details: the photoengraved monogram on the sides of the frame and a thin logo plaque on the initial part of the temples. The colour palette encompasses understated shades of black/grey, brown/black, striped blue/blue, striped green/black and dark Havana (mod. P.C. 6148/S); black/striped grey, striped Havana/brown, striped green/hunter green, dark Havana and black (mod. P.C. 6145).

These large, square-shaped men’s sunglasses assert their contemporary personality. Their modern style is highlighted by a grained metal detail on the temples and refined colour contrasts in tones of Havana/ruthenium, blue/palladium, burgundy/dark ruthenium, black/ruthenium (mod. P.C. 6149/S).
